An Introduction
The Online Integrated School APPlication (OISAPP) was developed by Definitive Concept in 2016 with the goal to provide students a platform to access school related materials as well as allow for teachers and school admins to automate a significant portion of their tasks. The project entered its prototype stage in 2017 and as of 2018, a full scale pilot test at St Mary’s College Mauritius and the project is now being implemented at multiple other schools.

We begun the project by conducting extensive research and interviews with Students, Teachers and Parents to identify gaps to the current processes currently being employed. Our analysts then went on to create process matrices which were then translated into efficient work flows. The goal since conception was to reduce effort and maximise effectiveness.
Collaboration
OISAPP allows for Student and Teacher online classes to take place with class materials uploaded on cloud. In addition to video conferencing, to aid to carrying out classes, the system allows class discussions taking place within the secure framework of the school.
Research
The research conducted by Definitive Concept revealed the most time consuming processes and jobs carried out by the teachers and admins. Those can be in the form of assessment items, grading, classroom management, attendance and reporting. The classrooms at the schools can be unique where a teacher can have a Maths class comprising of half of Class A and the remaining being of Class B, C and D. Another Maths teacher will also teach and grade the rest of Class B, C and D while another will only have half of Class A.
Features
Our developers created a full array of AI powered automation systems to reduce the workload on teachers and school staff so that more energy can be spent on students. We implemented an intelligent class management and automated grading and reporting system which reduces the need for paper print outs. Teachers can now put class materials and items on the platform and students can conduct group discussions online.
Technology
The system is built on a cloud platform. It allows all teachers and staff to have their own email addresses with the school domain. We used military grade encryption for results and are constantly on the lookout for any bugs on the system. Cloud powered systems allow us to generate within seconds summary sheets which would have taken staff multiple days to compile.
